Diarrhoea - teething?

Hi,
I think I need experienced mum advice please! Baby is 4.5 months and has been showing signs of teething since about 3 months, this has ramped up in the past couple of weeks (flushed cheeks, chomping everything, dribble central…)

He usually poos once, maybe twice a day. Last week he didn’t poo for 3 days and then for the past 4 days, I would say he’s had diarrhoea. We’ve had a lot of dirty nappies daily, he’s waking in the middle of the night to poo and that’s really unlike him.

He seems well in himself, he’s having slightly less milk than usual but doesn’t seem to be in any discomfort.

Would you say this can be put down to teething or would a doctors visit be advised?

Thanks!

If he is well in himself, I would say it’s because of teething…does he have a temperature?

If it smells vinegary its likely teething - from all the spit!

I would say it’s teething - my DD was same. You might be told or read that teething doesn’t cause symptoms like this but most mums will say it does, definitely I do x

Doctor was the one who said it caused my girls loose bowels.

It smells worse than usual but I wouldn’t say vinegary!

Bless you! The child rearing handbook is all confusing I’m afraid - generally it best to wing it 🤣
but in all seriousness unless he is really unwell such as constant sleeping, limp, exceedingly high temp that won’t come down it is likely to definitely be teething poos x

I’m coming back to this with another question - 8 poos in 14 hours…normal for teething?
His first tooth is cutting through, I can see it and just about feel it!

Teething, nothing to worry about.
