3 year old chalazion not going away been over 3 months

just wondering if anyone’s dealt with this before. My son has had a chalazion for over four months now. We’ve tried warm compresses, ointments and everything we were told, but it’s still not going away. NHS won’t do anything until it’s been a year, so I’m thinking about going private. Has anyone else been through this?”

@op my little one has had a couple both lasting for about 6-9 months. She still has scars from them. We were recommended washing her eyelids with belphasol twice a day and touch wood she hasnt had a new one over a year.

That still looks inflamed. I would go and see a decent local optician and they can refer you.

Hi my dd started suffering with these around the age of 3, they eye clinic believe it is allergy related caused by blepharitis for her. We clean her eyelids with blephargel , use warm compresses several times a day when she has a chalazion. And we were advised to give her daily vitamins containing omega 3. The eye clinic also gave us a steroid based gel to use like an eye ointment for when she has a chalazion. Every time she was booked in to have one drained (6 month wait list) it would go just before the op on its own.

Not a child but me! MIU advised making a paste with bicarbonate of soda and a little water and applying with a cotton bud which seemed to do the trick.
or back to the GP and a referral to
opthamology?

I’ve been back and forth with the opticians and the eye hospital, and they just keep telling me to do warm compresses and that it will go away with time. It’s been a while now and nothing is changing. I really don’t like how it looks, so I’m thinking of getting it drained privately. Has anyone else done this?
