Is it ADHD?

I have a son who is nearly 6.
I’ve suspected that he’d be dyslexic as my daughter is an know it’s common for siblings to both have this. I am also suspecting my son has adhd.
the SENCO at the school is awful, absolutely terrible. I know I’m going to get nowhere going the school route.
Do I need to change him schools, go privately, go the right to choose but will I still have to go through school? It just all feels SO overwhelming. I just went privately for my daughters dyslexia diagnosis where as ADHD just seems a minefield.
I am struggling right now and could do with some success stories tbh medicated or not.
My son doesn’t show all the signs he’s a good sleeper, but he can get frustrated but not to a melt down. He runs everywhere it’s more hyperactivity and focus can be a challenge at times. I’ve never had a boy and I know these can be common traits anyway of any child this age but I know at times he struggles to settle at school. He wants to talk and be active.
finding this really hard as it’s just not what I imagined parenting to be.

How is it affecting his life - his health, education, mental health (as opposed to affecting yours?). If is affecting his education, then perhaps talk to a teacher rather than SENCO. If SENCO is that awful then change schools? Often children are just active and busy rather than ADHD.

My son has ADHD and by 6 he was extremely anxious, low self esteem, sleep and eating issues, struggling in school. It still took another 2 years for a diagnosis and I'm not sure they got it 100% (I think he's also on autism spectrum). To be honest, the diagnosis hasn't really helped him a lot anyway as he was not considered bad enough to be medicated (behaviour in school very good after Y1). My other son is actually more physically active but never struggled in school or with his mental/ physical health.

I would talk to teacher and see if they are concerned (teachers see a lot of kids). If they're not then I think you probably need to just keep him active, football club, daily walk/ trip to park, not too much tech (especially ipad or gaming, if you need some down time then TV - not Youtube - is much better).
