I have concerns about my 8yo DD.
Over the past few weeks I have noticed almost daily accidental wetting during the daytime.
She is dry overnight.
She was quite late to come out of both daytime and nighttime nappies but has been fine for a few years.
I have asked her and she says that the teachers wont let her out of class, or she was holding the door for a friend, or she couldn't get there fast enough. She has to be remined to go to the loo before we leave the house, she doesn't drink enough. She is the sort of child who will be in a fantasy world and 'forget' about necessary things like going to the loo until she is desperate. But then I feel the frequency of wetting is too much for that.
I have asked her to drink more over the course of the day.
I have asked her to remember to go to the loo before leaving the house, at break and lunch time even if she doesn't think she needs to go.
I am not sure what else to suggest.
She has begged me not to take her to the GP (part embarrassment and part fear of doctors) and as she has not talked about pain or difficulty in going so I don't think its a UTI, so am willing to try some ideas at home before I force her to go.
She has had multiple surgeries in an attempt to correct a long term health problem. So has been catheterized many times since a tiny baby. I am not sure if that could cause problems with her urinary tract.
Does anyone have any advice on helping her over the next couple of weeks to see if i can get some improvement before I take her to the GP.
Thanks
