So my 2 year old has svt/ Wolff-Parkinson-white syndrome and miopic atrial tachycardia he has been on 10mg propranolol every 8 hours and his cardiologist from alder hey wants to change him to atenolol 10mg once daily! I’m so scared has anyone done this? I don’t like change, every time he is poorly we end up on hdu. PLEASE HELP

I’d be worried in your position too, OP. I take heart meds and have no familiarity with your son’s condition so please don’t take what I say as gospel in any way beyond my GP told me they use beta blockers (generally the drugs ending in lol) for vulnerable groups- pregnant, breastfeeding, babies. But once there is clinical data to suggest other drugs are safe it’s good to switch as they’re newer and more effective.

I don’t think a doc would ever put your child at risk but as a parent it’s good to be aware and ask questions.
