Dog nipped child

My 9 year old was playing with our small dog and she nipped her bottom lip thinking it was the cuddly toy they were wrestling over. Lesson learned and she won’t play wrestle with her again, but for tonight:

it quickly stopped bleeding and I’ve washed it thoroughly with soap. She’s already on antibiotics for a throat infection, so my question is do I need to take her to a&e tonight or would they just wash it and give antibiotics as a precaution?

TIA

Sounds like a genuine accident as in neither of their faults. You could always phone 111 to put your mind at rest but I imagine it will be fine

It was absolutely an accident, they were planying tug of war with a cuddly toy and for some reason my 9 year old decided to kiss her and she got a nip as the dog
thought it was the cuddly toy 🤦‍♀️my only concern is my did break the skin so I’m not sure if it needs a&e to clean it out or if my old fashioned hot soapy water and the fact she’s coincidentally on antibiotics is sufficient…

Do you think it can wait until GP opens first thing at 8? I’m fairly rural and it’s going to be hard getting to out of hours with her tonight which is over an hour and a half from me at nearest hospital unless it’s risky leaving it until first thing.

111 would be best placed to answer that. Tbh I can’t see that you’ll even get a call back from a dr on 111 before tomorrow morning so I expect it would be fine but if 111 recommend going in that’s what I’d be doing, long drive or not…

Thanks all, I called and they said as it’s minor and not deep to just keep an eye on it for signs of infection 🤞
