Let me start by saying we DO have a pediatrics app tomor. Just looking for some reassurance i suppose. Has anyone else had experience with vomiting in a child (not baby) and turned out NOT to be anything serious eg brain tumour etc. Grandson is 5 and this vomiting has been going on off and on (more recently on) since Feb. Sometimes morning, sometimes lunchtime, afternoon. occasionally evening. Absolutely fine in between, no prob with balance headaches etc. He does suffer with tonsillitis but that has been fine for last month so not that and has been on antibiotics 2 or 3 times over last few months which finished over 3 weeks ago. Sometimes after eating or drinking or running round.sometimes in morning. Sometimes at school sat down. Gp said reflux and has been on Gaviscon for 2 weeks.

Hi , my DS had 7 weeks of vomiting earlier this year when he was 3.5.

No fevers, no diarrhoea, no one else in the family unwell etc. Sometimes very washed out and would be lying on the sofa, sometimes charging around the playground full of energy and seemingly fine. But vomiting about half the days/nights in a 7 week period. I practically lost my mind and also had a panic about brain tumours.

for us, it was severe constipation causing a bowel Impaction. We went to hospital three times, the GP about ten times and my husband and I are both doctors and none of us had any bloody idea it was constipation as he had still been pooing throughout the 7 weeks. His tummy was soft etc. But the x Ray showed blockage and he had to be admitted for an NG tube and litres of laxatives.

I would think if it had started in February and it was something sinister then by now there would be more/worsening symptoms including neurological symptoms which thankfully your grandson doesn’t have. It’s good they’re seeing paediatrics tomorrow. My thought would be constipation, food intolerance/allergies , or enlarged tonsils causing him to gag and vomit

Thankyou so much for replying. I had not even thought of that and I do wonder if all the antibiotics he has had over the last few months have played havoc with his stomach. Glad your son is well now bless him and you got it sorted.
