EEG question

One of my DC is due to have an EEG next month, if your DC/you have ever had one how do they manage the hair?
DC has curly hair that without product (which they’ve specified in letter) gets very frizzy and big, I’m worried that the pads they use will be sticky and rip hair out, obviously the reason for the EEG is more important so it’s going ahead no matter what but I’d like to be prepared as possible and be able to prepare DC, hair, although big, is fine and scalp can be sensitive

They part the hair and stick pads to the scalp. The glue rips neither hair nor scalp when they peel the pads back off, but it is important to keep it product free to get a good connection and a good reading.

Thank you, that’s really helpful to know

Yes, they will gently part the hair where they need to and apply the pads direct to the scalp.

I would recommend taking some shampoo or product with you for afterwards though. We needed to douse my son's head in the sink to get rid of the jelly type stuff they used - and water wasn't enough.

My DD had one for a research study and not medical, but they provided shampoo and a hair wash station. It is sticky. But like PPS have said, they have to stick to the scalp to be accurate and don't worry, they're experts.

Hope all goes well for you ❤️

I always just bring a hat and stick my hair in that to go home if I have one in winter time. I prefer to take my time and wash the glue out later. Appreciate that may not be possible for you guys OP.
