Constant weird pale poos

Hello! Hope someone can advise. My four year old has weird poos.
He often takes ages on the loo also. Sometimes poos look normal. Other times, they have very pale sections, as per the attached photo.
Should we be worried? Or is this normal sometimes, just bad if its every time?
Perturbing!
thanks.

You need to take him to a doctor to get this investigated.

Do you think so? Is it really that unusual? Its not all the time.

ex nurse here yes it does need to be investigated.

Does he take Gaviscon for reflux at all? Freaked me right out the first time it happened but doc was very reassuring.

Pale poo like that can indicate a problem. One of mine had this briefly and they were ok but it can indicate a digestive issue (e.g a bile duct problem).

Definitely GP visit. Indicative of bile duct issue/Pancreas issue.

Just to let you know, the doctor wasn’t too worried, but referred us to paediatrics just in case, and they sent a letter saying they’re not worried either. So, yay…?

There’s some pigment to them, so I agree not too worrying. It’s white poo that can be a sign of obstructive jaundice.
