My little girl who is 8 months old has become ill this week she had the common symptoms of a cold temp, cough and runny nose these resolved quiet quickly but then 4 days ago she has started vomitting every feed she has drank she is formula fed on kendamil, not had a problem with it since she has been born, Took her to the doctors said her throat is red and it should resolve on its own but said nothing about the vomitting suggested that i give small feeds more frequently which i did but then she would cry and scream for her full feed she currently drinks 7oz every 3/4 hours she also was having 3 meals a day which i have stopped due to the vomitting, took her again to the GP today which said stop feeding milk all together? she has had wet nappies but eyes are sunken and lips have started to become very dry and started to crack, she also has been swallowing air and making herself gag i have no idea what to do as the doctors are no help at all just keep fobbing it off as a cold but i dont think it is if anyone has any advice or has gone through something similar it would help alot thankyou

You can't stop feeding her milk at 8mo! That's really dangerous advice, she still needs formula. Do you have a health visitor or someone like that you can talk to?

It sounds like dehydration is a concern if your daughter has cracked lips etc. Oral rehydration is safe for babies, something like this, Boots do own brand and so will any pharmacy https://www.boots.com/dioralyte-blackcurrent-6-sachets-10020148

You can give it in small volumes with a syringe if necessary and see how much your LO will keep down.

My baby had RSV at 6.5 months and one of the symptoms was projectile vomiting (it's the snot & fever), for breastmilk and formula. We had to give smaller feeds more often even though baby was screaming about it. You can give half the feed and then wait half an hour to see if it stays down. But you need to get fluids in somehow, and also calories. I would try letting your baby eat small, plain things like a bit of toast and see how they get on. They might stay down better than milk.
