doctors have said DD needs an mri for a haemangioma. Does anyone have experience of their baby having an MRI? Thanks

My daughter had to have an mri of her head when she was around 6 weeks old to investigate potential causes for hearing loss in one of her ears. They tried to time it so she’d just been fed and was sleepy and she did actually sleep through it, not sure if the sound of the machine is a bit like white noise for babies!

They said that baby girl would have to fast for 6 hours prior to her MRI. Was this the case also?

Whereabouts is the haemangioma?
DD had one and it completely disappeared.

My now 4 year old had to have one for haemangiomas as an infant. I was quite worried about it but they had everything set up to be able to entertain her. There was a kind of think set up that held her in place and while it was going on there was a nurse holding lots of various toys and sensory items above her head to keep her still and entertained and I sat beside her and held her hand. I think she got a bit antsy towards the end of it and wanted out but for the vast majority she was totally happy and relaxed so it was much easier than I was expecting.
