Toddler Diarrhoea - cleaning and household tips please

My toddler has toddler diarrhoea. She is healthy, doctor said all is well. However it's incredibly messy. She is toilet trained, but has lots of accidents. This takes a long time to clean up...rinsing the poo out of the clothes, cleaning the bath (where I rinse the clothes), cleaning her (full body, bath usually needed after), cleaning the floor, the toilet etc, then the laundry (needs to be done same day due to the smell of the clothes). Any tips for household management of it etc please would be appreciated. It's such a lot of work!

Does your washing machine have a rinse cycle? I use it to rinse clothes out before washing in similar circumstances and then run the items through a standard wash cycle. Once the washing is done, I would run a hot cycle with some disinfectant in the drum to clean the machine.

Honestly I used to put my DC back in pull ups when she had diahorrea, it saved a lot of mess. Never affected her toilet training once the bug had passed.

For the washing machine i use Dettol laundry stuff in every cycle along with a super hot empty cleaning cycle after any pooey clothes have been in.

Do you have a bucket that can sit in the bath for clothes to soak in, rather than you filling up then having to clean the whole bath?

I had a daughter with toddler diarrhoea. We fitted a shower tap into the bath which reaches the toilet and rinsed the clothes into the toilet.
We had the John Lewis baby bath and we washed her down in that so the main bath wasn't contaminated and it was light enough to tip the contents into the toilet and then washed her a second time in the main bath
cloth wipes rather than disposable wipes for cleaning child and the floor then give the floor a steam cleaner
There are dietary changes that we made that reduced the frequency to once or twice each day from 3+. Increased fat, low fibre, reduced fruit especially dried fruit and no fruit juice. We were already under dieticians due to her also having food allergies.

Thank you so much everyone for this. It’s good to know I’m not alone and get some tips.
