Low neutrophils?

my 9 week old baby had bloods done 3 days ago for prolonged jaundice and his levels are fine and coming down however they told us that his neutrophil level is at 0.6 and it should be at 1? They told us it’s nothing to worry about and he needs more bloods. Has anyone got any experience with this and what was the cause of it?

I’m an adult with this :) it could be a blip, it could be anything really. Repeat bloods are normal to do, it took a few rounds before I got my diagnosis
autoimmune neutropenia is the most common in children I think

My DS had this as a baby and was discovered during routine blood tests. A friend who is a haematology consultant said it is nothing to worry about as they don’t have proper reference ranges for babies that age as it would be unethical to do widespread testing. We were a bit worried, and the hospital monitored him for quite some time afterwards (I can’t remember exactly, maybe regular blood tests for a year) and he is absolutely fine. We just dropped him off at uni this weekend.

We are going through this at the moment. DS had a blood test at 3 weeks 5 days old due to prolonged jaundice. Liver results came back fine and the jaundice has been put down to breast milk jaundice - he’s ebf.
an incidental finding of low netrophils was picked up. He was measuring 0.78 and was also told it should be over 1. He was re tested 1 week later and measured at 0.77 so no real change. We have a second re test on Tuesday, which the hospital said if it is still low, he would be referred to haemotology. I think this might be routine as the Dr wasn’t initially too concerned.
from what i’ve read on other posts, this is a common incidental finding and resolves itself over time but will continue with bloods until he’s discharged.
