Molluscum contagiosum

My daughter (4) has Molluscum contagiosum (confirmed by swab)
Will it really take as long as they say to go? 😭 How did you stop it spreading through the household?

She is covered. Face, arms, legs and torso.

It’s not causing her any discomfort.

Ooh poor thing. We used the molludab solution from Amazon and it got rid of them in a couple of weeks when we applied it religiously. Otherwise it's about 18 months.

We also used Molludab and it worked after a few weeks. After some stubborn ones were killed off it was like the immune system helped clear up.

@Springadorable thanks I will
order some

It does sting a bit on the ones that are broken skinned and you want to be accurate with it rather than slopping it about, but it was a godsend for my little boy. I just gave him a pack of raisins to work through while I quickly got to work!

my sons lasted just over a year. We tried a healing spray (can’t remember name but not the one mentioned above) it didn’t work

Yup, molludab. We allowed tablet time while it dried. Took about three weeks but then it happened very suddenly and quickly.

stealthninjamum · 18/10/2025 21:48

Poor thing. Dd1 had this but it didn’t spread to the rest of us. I think she had it for about 18 months and then accidentally one came off. After that they all vanished and fortunately she has no scars.

AnxiousOr · 18/10/2025 21:50

My child had this.
I actually have just realised they’ve all gone. Maybe 18 months and not as severe as your dd poor thing

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 18/10/2025 22:12

They tend to go after one of them gets very angry. I think the Molludab triggers that to happen. My kids would scratch one, it would get inflamed and look quite worrying, then as if by magic they’d disappear. It’s very odd!

SilkAndSparklesForParties · 18/10/2025 22:18

DD's were there for about 18/24 months. Not as severe as the op's dd. No Moludab in those days.

All of a sudden they started flaring and sort of popped away. There was often a little blood. Oddly the flaring started immediately after chicken pox which seemed to act as a catalyst. There rare some little scars but it's impossible to say if they arise from the chickenpox or the molluscums.

They were truly vile but her brother didn't get them and neither did we
