DD sudden eye problems help

My DD started wearing glasses at 12. She’s very tall , and grew quickly. Optician said she probably needed glasses due to large growth spurts in a short time.

When she turned 13 she mentioned seeing circles for couple seconds. I made a mental note, but thought fine.

A few months later she said she sees waves, circles, circle inside a circle and her vision goes dark. These happen separately from eachother, and last a few seconds.

She said it happens at random. She could be walking, or sitting then suddenly she sees funny shapes or vision goes dark momentarily.
She felt fine otherwise, and I decided to get it checked at opticians. He did a thorough test, and couldn’t see anything wrong with her eyes.

A week later she suddenly yelled ‘oow’ and started having head pressure middle of head lasting 15 seconds. We were sitting at a cafe eating at the time.

It happened again following day but at the side of her head this time.

A Google search said this needs to be checked out urgently , and I was so worried about permanent vision loss. We went to A&E. Her blood pressure was low, but other than checking that, they did not test anything else or do an mri. The drs said this doesn’t sound urgent at all although I explained about new symptoms of head pressure.

DD now saying her vision darkening, and seeing shapes is happening more frequently. No other symptoms such as nausea , headaches etc . It doesn’t seem to match description of migraine as once it goes, she can continue about her day. Vision darkening and seeing shapes now is happening a few times a day. It was the new symptom of head pressure that’s been really worrying me.

Am I over reacting? I don’t like thinking something going on (they refused to do head scan) and I’m just leaving it without not knowing what exactly is causing all these problems.

Can you make an appointment with your GP? They should be able to guide you and help

I got migraines around that age, because of my periods.
Keep an eye on whether she’s pre-menstrual when she gets the next one.

Migraleve are an essential.

Best of luck!
