Before i start, we have an appt on friday at the Gp.
But i just need to talk out my worries.
DS is 4 in October. Hes always been a dinky little thing (still in 2-3 clothing), hes been dry now for a year, but last 2 weeks hes been wetting the bed at night which is unusual for him, he has also had 3 toilet accidents the last couple days which again isnt like him. Hes drinking loads and is constantly saying hes hungry. But after he eats he says his belly hurts. And hes been saying that for a few weeks.
Whilst it could be something of nothing and maybe just a growth spurt, have this nagging feeling about diabetes. It runs in the family on my side (mum and nan). Am i overly
Worried? Someone told me about a sweet smell and i remember now the other day his breath smelt funky. But i never thought anything of it. Basically i just need to know if i should panic or not 😆

I'd try to get him seen tomorrow. Could be nothing but worth checking. Slow growth and stomach pain could also be coeliac. Lots of autoimmune conditions are linked so worth ruling out.

If you say "I am worried about diabetes" it is very likely you would be prioritised for a same day appointment - all it takes is a fingerprick blood test to rule it in or out.

If you think your 3 year old has diabetes then Friday is too late. Call and see if they can see him tomorrow. Read the signs of DKA and go to A&E if he has any of them and seems unwell

I think you're right to be concerned. Don't wait until Friday. If he seems at all unwell / worsening then go straight to AE. As is, you could contact 111 now and hopefully get an appointment first thing in the morning.

Absolutely you should panic. He is showing all the signs plus you have a family history of diabetes. Please do as PP have said and get him seen as a priority. At worst you will be sent home after a false alarm. But untreated diabetes kills.

As i posted in another post, he is fine, no glucose in his urine and his blood sugar level was 6....so hes just keeping me on my toes 😆😆still bed wetting though 😴😴
Hes also in the waiting list for consultant for unusually large tonsils that may be causing him to have a lisp and snoring like a grown ass man...i swear this boy! His sister was a breeze no issues but i feel like its just been one thing after another with him!
Anyway thanks for your advice and concerns ❤️
