Fluoride for babies?

So I've been brushing my babys teeth with a tiny smear of 1000ppm fluoride baby toothpaste since her first teeth cut at 6 months. She's now 1 on Thursday and never had an issue. I see so much conflicting advice online about fluoride, people have told me just brushing with water is fine because water has fluoride in it, people have said to use the toothpaste, and people have said that they shouldn't use fluoride until they can spit.

What did all of you do when your LOs were babies?

Im in Scotland and we're advised to use a smear of baby toothpaste with at least 1000ppm fluoride from the first tooth. We don't have fluoride added to the water.

What does your hv advise? Do you have fluoridated water?

The reason it's a smear of toothpaste is because they can't spit it out. When they get older they can have a larger amount on the tooth brush

I didn't do fluoride until older and could spit out, didn't really think about it much!
Jack and Jill toothpaste from Holland and Barratt is nice
