Unexplained rash after temp

Hi all,
my daughter, 2, spiked a temperature last night in the mid 38’s and had been irritable all day. This morning she woke up and had a few spots around her mouth and her stomach and was again irritated all day. The rash has spread to nearly her whole body and we asked a pharmacist but he just said allergies. We’re fairly certain it can’t be as she hasn’t eaten or used anything new and we’ve given her an antihistamine they suggested but it hasn’t made any difference. Does anyone recognise this type of rash? Thank you

Could be scarlet fever (feels like sandpaper) but most likely is a viral rash - and that's the allergy really. It's an allergy to the virus iyswim.
Ds used to get a lot of them.

@MargaretThursday i do see what you mean I did wonder if it’s viral it’s just neither of my children have come out in a rash spread this much from a virus before. Some parts of it feels slightly rough but not all of it and I’m assuming she’d feel a lot worse if it was scarlet fever?

Mine weren't really ill with scarlet fever. A rash all over, temperature, slight sore throat, but full of beans!

D's used to get viral rashes with any minor viruses. They varied between being a small patch and all over, small dots, huge bruises etc.
If they're not presenting as very ill I'd wait until the morning and if the rash is still there Get it checked - the pharmacy may do it if your doctors are as reluctant to speak to a patient as ours is.

Google roseola (caused by a virus). High/prolonged fever that breaks with a rash appearing is classic. See if the rash matches the pictures.

@OtterMummy2024 thanks for your message I did check but I’m not sure it could be that because her temperature only spiked for a few hours last night not for days before.
@MargaretThursday i did ask and she said her throat didn’t hurt but she’s still so young. I was just going to check to see if it went down by morning I think I just wanted to see if anyone knew for definite in case it wasn’t just viral

Both of my kids used to often get a rash after a virus, it’s often then last symptom to come out so would make sense if the temperature has gone down and the rash is now presenting that’s it’s post viral x
