My daughter had a really bad stomach bug. She’s recovering but had hardly slept for weeks as she says she feels awful still and can’t stop twitching. We’ve had bloods done and they’re all ok. Any ideas? The GP doesn’t seem concerned but she’s desperate to sleep. Never had twitichibg before the illness. Would appreciate any help.

I think lack of sleep can cause twitching
But also things like low iron or potassium etc

Agree with this low iron can causing twitching. Gp’s will sometimes convince themselves that bloods are ok even when they are borderline. I would request a copy of the blood test results.

Excellent advice. The iron and B12 isn’t what it should be. It even says satisfactory on the app. Thanks ladies. I wouldn’t have the nhs app without this advice.

Low in iron and B12 is not normal and should not be ignored by the gp. These are the type of things us parents have to become our children’s voice and keep on at the gp. My daughter was having restless leg due to low B12.

how have you raised her B12. Have they mentioned injections?

This is a good point necause if iron and b12 is low them it should not be ignored. I would voice your concerns with the gp. Gp’s can be very dismissive if bloods are just boreline but if left can get worse. Deficiencies are what can cause symptoms of all kinds.
