6 yr old has a foreign object in his eye, they tried to remove it today but he wouldn't open his eye or keep still, there worried about infection, we have been told that he would need anesthesia if it dosnt go by itself within 24 hours, anyone give any tips on how or what we could do ? Possible sand or tiny plastic.

I kept filling a container with water immersing the eye and blinking. You could try a big glass hold it tight and ask him to stick eye in and look around underwater.

Thanks he won’t even open his eye for the dr to take a proper look it’s a disaster he said the light really hurts his eye :( they haven’t even said they will flush it just that they want to remove it.

Then they'll have to sedate him. I've had six eye operations five with sedation. It's not bad.

Thanks, he’s going in tomorrow for it, they said a general anaesthesia, tried saline today and he played and splashed in the bath for ages but still there :( but on the bright side this time tomorrow we’ll be home ! Just finding it hard to wrap my head around it as it would take just 2 seconds if he allowed us so it goes from that to an extreme ! Owell

Yes so small but they can’t get the cotton bud stick that they are using to swipe it and it’s not moving with any water :( I’m gutted feel so bad for him, he’s not in any pain but they are worried about infection that could affect his eyesight for his whole life.
