My 11 yo dd has become unwell only this afternoon. We have had a lovely day out at the common and pub. On the way home she said her tummy and down below hurted and she’s got a rash on her legs. It’s a hot day but she’s spiked a fever and she’s very clingy to me.

she wasnt allergic to anything and I have looked I can’t see any stings she might gotten. It’s all a bit random any thought x

Ring 111

Bowling4soup · 15/06/2025 20:07

Check nhs page on rashes to compare

itsgettingweird · 15/06/2025 20:08

Have you done the glass test on the rash?

I agree with ringing 111. They can triage.

cestlavielife · 15/06/2025 20:08

What did she eat? Any allergies in wider family?

Ruby41 · 15/06/2025 20:26

She’s had chicken nuggets and chips as did her younger sister. We have been there before it’s our local pub. The rash is annoying her and it’s very itchy.

no no allergies in any of the family as far as I know. I’ve given her a periton to see if that would help.

The rash is a lot worse on her front but this is her back. Her feet are ice cold. We have a neighbour who’s a paramedic my hubby has just text him to see if he could pop round. We did also call 111 they said they’d try call us back within 2 hours

You've done the right thing hopefully neighbour and 111 will advice what to do. I don't think the rash on its own would be as concerning but the high temperature and suddenly feeling unwell together with the rash i would find worrying but the professionals will be able to advise

Ruby41 · 15/06/2025 20:31

Our neighbour is on the way

Youve done the right thing

Hopefully the paramedic can advise if need to go to a and e for treatment

insomniac1 · 15/06/2025 20:38

Go to A&E. the combination of fever, cold feet and rash

Lougle · 15/06/2025 20:40

I think I'd want her to be seen pretty quickly @Ruby41

summerscomingsoon · 15/06/2025 20:40

I would take mine to A & E. has she had the measles vaccination?

Seawolves · 15/06/2025 20:57

Rash, vomiting, ice cold feet and a temp, I'd be off to A&E as soon as possible. I hope she's OK

feelingbleh · 15/06/2025 22:15

How's she doing?

Ruby41 · 15/06/2025 22:17

He thinks it's an allergic reaction to an insect bite. He has given her an injection to stop the reaction. Her blood pressure was really low, so she had a drip, but it didn't make much difference. She has gotten much worse; she feels really dizzy and more sick. Our lovely neighbour arranged an ambulance to take her to the hospital. We are just on the way now. She's very much the same, just thrown on the bed. They have also given her anti-sickness, another drip bag. Her last blood pressure was 61/39, which they said is really low for her age, but normal for allergic reactions x

Take her to A&E asap, don’t wait for 111
Has she had her MMR?

minipie · 15/06/2025 22:19

Glad you’re on your way to hospital

Hope she is okay

ninjahamster · 15/06/2025 22:21

Oh bless her, hope she is ok. My son had a severe allergic reaction a couple of years ago. He was really unwell, covered in an itchy rash. Violently sick.

feelingbleh · 15/06/2025 22:23

The hospital will be the best place for her. Your neighbour sounds amazing .

LettingyougoMovingOn · 15/06/2025 22:25

You are doing the right thing going to hospital. Hope your dd is ok soon.

summerscomingsoon · 15/06/2025 22:27

hope she is ok .you're doing the right thing going to A & E

laesosalt · 15/06/2025 22:29

Poor poppet. Sending hugs and hope you’re ok! Doing the right thing 😊

Ruby41 · 15/06/2025 22:38

Thank you all. Yes she’s had all her jabs including MMR.

he’s been so wonderful! He’s such a sweet gentleman.

she’s gotten a bed and her own cubicle. They’ve put another line in her taken bloods and give her some paracetamol drip and taken loads of bloods. The rash is going down a lot on her back and chest but still really irritating her on her legs. Sorry I might be rambling a bit x
