Hi can I ask if you have endometriosis what are your symptoms etc I know everyone is different, has anyone had these symptoms since being a teen? My daughter is 14 and for the last 12 months has had really bad stomach pain, feeling sick and dizzy, really bad back pain, heavy periods and exhausted all the time, her back and stomach hurt all the time she has gone on the contraceptive pill now and this has eased her stomach pain a bit and periods have gone lighter but she is still in pain most days and is missing school and other activities due to this. Thanks

Have you got a referral to a gynaecologist? Im
not sure if this can be diagnosed via ultrasound or endoscopy/hysteroscope (sorry not sure of the right term). But I would push for further investigation and testing.

I was given the contraceptive pill at 14 for symptoms consistent with endometriosis, I was diagnosed with endometriosis on my 30s I had spent years suffering and the diagnosis came after years of infertility. I would urge you to get a gp referral for investigation don't let your daughter suffer x

Hi yeah she has been under gynae and they just put her on pill and said it should work, she has had scans and blood tests etc but nothing showing up she has been referred to pediatric doctor app in September but it's just really frustrating as it's affecting her most days.

I got my period at 11 and it was too heavy by 12 and too painful by 13/14. I was diagnosed during surgery in my twenties. I’ve had several operations.

The pill helped me a great deal.

It can take a few months to feel the full benefits of some treatments and this includes surgery.

It is good to have a diagnosis. The only way to diagnose is surgery. But it won’t cure it even if they treat surgically and it’s not a quick fix. It took months to feel the improvement after some of my bigger surgery.

I have found the pill and lifestyle help. Diet affects the daily pain a great deal for me. I find avoiding wheat the most important. Also dairy and sugar.

It is possible to calm it down and some months now it’s only really painful around my period.
