Ear wax (photo attached)

My 4 (nearly 5) year old has this amount of sticky ear wax in his ears daily, I can wipe it away and it's there again the next day.

It's always dark orange in colour and sticky. It isn't causing any pain or discomfort. Any suggestions?

I haven’t seen your photo but my dd had this for a few years and then grew out of it. We didn’t do anything special to get rid of it. It didn’t bother her at all, it just looked like she always needed a good wash. But we knew that as soon as we cleaned it off it came back straight away.

Some people's ears are just more waxy. If you can afford it I would go to a private ear person (I don't know what they are called) the type with the little cameras and ear Hoover's who can give them a good clean and check for anything untoward.

Also don't let them wear earbud headphones as they are awful for pushing the earwax against the eardrum rather than letting it work it's way out naturally.

DS was always like this, incredibly waxy! He's nearly 19 now and I don't have to check his ears anymore 😁. Sometimes I'd do some drops of olive oil to help it stay soft and easier to wipe away

Oh I used to love hoicking soft wax out of DS's ears when he was wee! I used to say we would start a candle factory. He grew out of it.
