Itchy rash

My 2 year old has developed a rash that started of on his wrists and has spread all over his body - it’s very itchy more so when he’s hot. I have no idea what is causing it and neither do the doctors (paid private to see a dermatologist)

we have tried scabies treatment (for all of us)
deep cleaning incase of dust mites
anti histamines (makes no difference)
specialised eczema wash powder and bath stuff
removing gluten from his diet (intolerant to dairy and soy so doesn’t have these anyway)

I’ve attached pics - if anyone has any ideas of what to try. (My husband has something similar too and it’s been going on for months)

I’m not a dr but lately I found that olive oil works wonders for itches. Pure coconut oil is good too.

Would your washing powder/ laundry pods or softener be the issue? I can’t use Daz as it makes me itch like crazy. Something else that makes me itch all over is squash. If I drink it I’m itching for days….

Ooops I just reread what you posted and you’ve tried different laundry stuff so that might not be it.

You need to find the right emollients. Try something like hydromol or epaderm on warm skin after baths, oats in the bath, doublebase or similar on mornings and during the day cos it's less greasy. Emollin spray is nice on itches. If that doesn't help, revisit his diet

We did use fairy non bio and switched to the new eco one but it hasn’t made a difference. He’s barely sleeping because the itch wakes him every night for a few hours.

@DevilledEgg have you had anything similar? Very strange how it’s randomly occurring and we can’t establish any triggers. He has cetraben cream which hasn’t helped and a steroid cream but again that’s useless.

Will look into emollin spray!

What softener do you use, might it be that?

Yes it turned out to be they were reacting to anything and everything because of the eczema and as soon as we got that under control it all stopped

So we tried the emollin spray and it hasn’t worked 😩. He goes to sleep at 7 and wakes up at every night without fault around 10-3am
the consultant confirmed it isn’t scabies, bed bugs dust mites or eczema but have no idea what it could be.

it’s came out of no where in November and we can’t link it to anything. Foods, creams, mites 🫠 losing my sanity over this

my husband had this too, and what helped a bit was encasing the mattress and duvet so nothing builds up inside. we just made sure bedding stayed fresh. not a cure but it did ease things
