5 days of temperatures, would you go to urgent care? My 10 month old has been unwell now since Tuesday with regular high temps that come down with nurofen and calpol and she's still having half her bottles. It's the temperatures that are concerning and the cough 😩 she's had it before and the hospital just say wait it out but 5 days of temperatures seems crazy or is this normal? She's okay in herself at times but doesn't want to eat anything at all 😭 just feels bad not taking her but every time we go we get told there's nothing they can do and to wait it out

5 days a still got temps, seek medical attention now. You’re already managing it best you can. It should of improved now, could be tonsillitis etc

Ring 111 and ask for an out of hours GP appointment.

@cannynotsay Thanks. This is what I've done in the past and our hospital just sends us home and says it's viral 😫 so frustrating. I'll take her again today but just feels futile

Trust your gut, baby isn’t eating either, so you’re doing the right thing getting her checked out. I’d just go A&E as it’s been 5 days. Depending on the area 111 could take hours to get back to you and from experience at this stage they will tell you to go A&E anyway.

A&E

5 days temp in a baby. I would not hesitate. Please go now

Always important to get a review if you've reached 5 days of high temperatures every day. An especially miserable viral infection is still very possible (lots of the flu infections this year seem to be quite long duration), but a doctor can make sure something else isn't going on.

The point of getting her checked is to see if she is seriously unwell. The fact that she has previously been unwell with viruses does not mean that a) getting checked was a waste of time and b) that there is not something else causing this illness. We don’t give a diagnosis of a viral illness just to waste time

Fever for 5 days in my at the time 18m got us a squeezed in at the end of clinic gp appointment. I had been fully expecting to be told to try again at 8.30 the next morning
Her temperature was 40+ and we left with antibiotics. He originally was saying viral but once he took her temperature he changed her mind. He called us an hour or so later to see if her temperature had come down and if it hadn't we would have been sent up to paeds
