ladies

my DD is 18 months. Had first dose of MMR at 12 months and then was asked to ensure she had her 2nd dose around 18 months-24 months as the nurses said that measles is high in our area to they ask everyone to bring it forward.

ive looked at the NHS website and it says that the second dose should be given at 3-5 years old?

has anyone else had theirs so close together?

I believe the childhood vaccine schedule has just/is about to change and 2nd MMR is brought forward

Was the same here a few years ago - DD3 had her second dose early due to an outbreak locally.

Its changing as standard soon so I wouldn't overthink it

It’s changed in our area as apparently uptake is low, so they want a wider window to make sure fewer people miss it.

DS1 is 11. He had is second dise of MMR at 2 as there was a bit of a local outbreak and several babies too young for vaccination had died.
DS2 had it later.

I preferred the earlier jab as it meant the preschool booster for DS1 was only a single jab. DS2 had I think 2 or maybe 3 and I had to hang on to him really tight as he knew what was coming for the second one.
