Hi, does anyone with experience of their baby having CMPA have any insight to give me about whether these poos might be concerning. Or, if they’re normal?! Baby has started pooing less than previously and they have now changed in consistency too, their poos were never previously like this & i’m now wondering if I need to try and see the doctor. The poos have a smell to them. Baby is almost 10 weeks.

My eldest have CMPA

my third baby has mucus in her poo but they said since she’s thriving to not go diary free. Your baby poo looks perfect

Thanks, baby is thriving which makes me think it is fine. But, these poos are smelling now, which i’m not sure they should?

My daughters poos looked like this and she has multiple food allergies.
Even if they are thriving I would be still inclined to remove dairy to be honest as you don't know how the inflammation in the gut will impact them and you can be more susceptible to other allergens if you have allergens in your diet.
My daughter has 20 food allergies and her dietician and paediatrician have been very clear if she is having symptoms including loose stools that food should be removed completely. Most of the foods she reacted through my diet and breastfeeding the one exception was fish and if I had it once a week she didn't have symptoms but if I had it more frequently she reacted so I was told I could keep it in my diet at a frequency she didn't react to but not enough to cause symptoms.

Both kids cmpa. Their poo looked normal. Was hard getting them diagnosed. Poor DC1 was diagnosed after the fact. They didn’t present typically, were chubby and happy and I was told several times that CMPA babies are skinny and miserable before DC2’s reaction was spotted by accident by a doctor. Both grown out of it now.

At the point of diagnosis my daughter didn't have loose stools as a symptom. I was always asked if they were normal. They were normal for her and it was 2020 so I didn't see any other babies poo and no one else saw her poos. It was only when they improved I realised how abnormal they were.
She wasn't diagnosed until 17 weeks and it was a case of it's probably not but worth a try. Her only symptom was being unsettled and reflux but I was told babies cry and reflux is a washing issue.
She was gaining nicely along the 9th percentile and I was told she was just a 9th percentile baby and she had no growth issues. She moved up to just under the 50th percentile after removing diary and soya!
It's so hard to get diagnosed some times!
It was only seeing a paediatrician for something else my daughter went went down the allergy route.

Thanks all for sharing, I will get an app with the doctor to look into this further then.
