Blood in 11yo DSS urine and pain on mid left

My DP's 11yo DD hasn't been very well, on and off, for a few weeks. She's had antibiotics for a throat infection, which definitely helped but 3 weeks ago, a urine sample showed traces of blood, same thing a week later and yesterday, higher amounts of blood. Three urine samples in three weeks.
She's also complaining of pain and soreness in her left side, just below her ribcage. She has very little appetite and often says she feels sick.
Her mother has chronic kidney disease but for various reasons hasn't been in this lovely, (and very shy) girl's life very much.

The Healthcare professionals keep saying 'oh, it's probably the start of her periods' but I'm concerned that they aren't taking it seriously enough. I wouldn't have thought that this blood in urine would show for three weeks. I'm telling my partner to push for an urgent referral, given the increase of blood and her family history.

She's very small, and slight, and doesn't have the healthiest of diets, although does like my cooking and is becoming more open to trying new things. She's starting to develop but there's nothing very noticeable there yet, and there's no sign of periods yet. Her mother started her periods aged 11, but I know that often doesn't mean anything.
He's a great dad, and has told them that she needs further investigation. I just feel as a woman that yet again, this could be a case of female health being dismissed, and the HCPs dismissing him because he's a single dad.

I'm right, aren't I? This just doesn't feel like periods and they're being dismissed.
I have boys BTW.

What the hell has that got to do with having blood in her urine?

OP, you’re right, and I think Dads of girls often go on a bit of a journey to understand structural sexism. Would your DD be open to you accompanying her to the doctor? Did you go last time?

Thanks for your reply. I went with them, to out of hours, and a lot of the questions were directed to me, even though we both said that she doesn't live with me. So, I've offered to go again and that's absolutely fine.
Not sure what the other person posted and probably glad not to have seen!

I’d be tempted to try next time going with them and you taking the adult lead in the conversations, and not actively pointing out you don’t live with them.

May also be helpful to take a urine sample thats ‘clean’ (so straight after shower having washed area) which may help clear up the starting periods thing.

Yes, I agree with @ScaryM0nster. She needs an adult female to push back on this. Presumably five days have now passed since the last urine sample? With your SDD’s permission I think I’d push quite hard on this being something else - that in your view she’s a way off periods yet (because no discharge, only started developing six months ago, whatever) and that in your view this may well be linked to her kidneys because of the family history
