Does anyone have any experience of this? As my DS13 is growing his chest is sunken in the centre. It’s not very deep, but I am unsure if I need to see the GP. Sometimes when he moves it looks deeper and more pronounced. He is pretty skinny and has hypermobility.

My DS has this. We first noticed it when he was about 5. Took him to GP who referred him to paediatrics. They did some measurements and scans but said it wasn't too severe. It's still fairly obvious but doesn't bother him too much. I think some of the treatment can be quite difficult so we're glad he didn't need it.

Thank you for getting back to me. I posted a photo, but it’s still under review. I think I might take him along to the GP, just to put my mind at rest.

Sounds like one of the (many and varied) symptoms of Ehlers Danlos hypermobility or possibly Marfans. Talk to GP

This is sometimes a sign of Marfans syndrome (other signs include very long, thin limbs, arm span greater than height, flat feet, high palate, being able to overlap thumb and little finger when encircling the opposite wrist). Have him checked by your GP - he may need to be referred to Rheumatology. Marfan's sounds a bit scary when you google it, but as long as your GP knows about it, measures can be put in place to minimise the risk of anything serious happening - it's definitely a case of forewarned is forearmed!

Thank you all for your thoughts. I had wondered about Marfans, although DS is not especially tall, he does has a high palate and crowded teeth. I’ll make an appointment with the doctor.
