Daughter broken femur

My 6yo daughter broke her femur in a playground accident at school. We have no idea how such a big break could happen in just the school playground. Does anyone else have any experiences of children with a broken femur from just a freak accident?

He's not too bad, he was in traction then had surgery the day after to put rods in (another operation in 6 months to remove them)No cast!! He's managing on his zimmer, not too keen crutches!

My son broke his femur quite badly tripping over a ball when he was 3. Doctors said it was a freak accident etc but it was awful!

He was in traction for a while and then a Spica cast. He’s now 13 and fine! He does have a slight limp and occasional growing pains but nothing major.
