Excess hair on preschool child

My daughter has excess hair on the tip of her nose and between her brows, some of which is dark. I’m not sure it the GP can do anything and if it’s worth mentioning to them? Any experience?

That’s not excess hair, it’s just the way her eyebrows grow. Don’t make her self conscious, and don’t waste the GP’s time.

You can see it if you click on the photo, I’ve just cropped it to hide her features

I wouldn't worry about it in a toddler TBH, it's not a lot of hair, it's just how it grows. Some people have more hair than others (including on their nose)

Eyebrows look totally normal. Very common for them to naturally meet in the middle, although they barely do.

Small amount of dark hair on tip of nose is more unusual so I would keep an eye on that.
Especially towards puberty as teens and teens can be unkind, but atm I wouldn't do anything. But if you need to take her to GP for another issue could mention dark hair on tip of nose them but please don't make her feel self conscious about it, it's barely noticeable, had to look closely at zoomed in photo to see it.

It just makes me feel sad that I’ll have to wait for her to get picked on. I wondered if anything underlying could be causing it. It was light as a baby but now she has lots of little hairs that are getting darker. I’ve not seen this on anyone else

Nobody will pick on her at that age. Kids don’t notice this stuff honestly. My DD is a bit more ‘hairy’ as she is mixed heritage and this is not something we’ve even remotely experienced. She’s also had some accidents in toddlerhood that led to visible differences on her face and no child has ever asked her about them.

The only solution would be to remove it, waxing, hair removal cream, shaving etc which the GP wouldn’t do but you can.
DH is greek, our dc have more hair than some children but it’s not a medical issue, they’re perfectly normal.

Do your children have it dark on their nose too? I’ve never seen this before. No of course preschool children wouldn’t tease but I think someone may have said something as she’s told me she had one eyebrow like daddy. I said lots of people do, but didn’t know what else to say and if it would get worse, both comments and also the hair as she gets older. She had fine longer hair everywhere and I’m concerned if it could be Hypertrichosis.

I think and I stand to be corrected, it's a type of birthmark on the nose but I think it is worth mentioning to a health visitor at the very least, can you do it not in front of your child?

Maybe a quick whizz over with a Flawless Touch ?

No there’s no birthmark there. Flawless is probably a good idea. My dr is mainly via a portal so I could do a lot over that but yes I wouldn’t want to say it in front of her either I’ve found a book for children about body hair that I’m going to buy and have on standby incase she comes home upset when she starts school. I could ring the Hv team too
