Glandular fever

Has anyone got experience of glandular fever in their little ones?

did they experience on and off fevers and massively swollen lymph nodes?

we are on day 10 of being poorly now. It started with the big swollen lymph nodes to begin with which were painful but no other symptoms - eating and drinking and playing fine just with a low fever on the first day. Lymph nodes have stayed swollen and he’s started with high temps and sore throat. Drinking fine but saying it hurts to swallow ☹️ doctors say there’s no obvious infection, so I’m wondering if it could be glandular fever?

just looking for advice on other symptoms?

Thinking back to when I had glandular fever I would think that if they are eating drinking and (especially) playing as normal then glandular fever is unlikely. For me the extreme exhaustion, along with a very sore throat, were the main symptoms. As in couldn’t get out of bed for days exhausted

I had it when I was younger and ended up in hosp for two weeks with dehydration, throat was closed over I couldn't swallow my own spit. I was 14 and had to be carried into hospital I was that weak. I was also off school for three months with complete exhaustion.

The eating/drinking/playing may suggest something less sinister?

I had it at 9. Was in bed for over a week and could barely eat/drink.
