I always thought y shouldn’t eat than go for a run because it can lead to digestive issues
in schools they always eat first and then go for a run

Isn’t it better to eat before exercise - especially if you are female ( admittedly this is adults , eating before manages your fat usage better )

I think in general digestion is eased if there is sone exercise and movement after eating and it helps balance sugar levels better

Fairly sure you’re incorrect on both counts.

For overall fat loss it makes no difference when you eat/exercise as long as you eat less than you burn. There is some evidence that not eating before exercise will burn more fat- you burn glycogen first, then fat. So if you glycogen stores are depleted from a short fast then you will mobilise fat stores sooner.

digestion is not eased by exercise. In fact muscle activity means blood is diverted from the gut to those muscles, so digestion is “on hold” while you exercise.

obviously this is of no relevance to a small child playing after lunch at school. It’s not going to cause any harm whatsoever.

Is this opinion coming from a point of losing weight or best performance (eg a race?)

My daughter has severe reflux and we have never been told to have a gap between feeding and her running around. We do have to be careful about the amount she had to drink on an empty stomach, in one go and before lying down however.
She can't manage more than 200ml in one go so we have to pace drinks out during the day. Ideally she needs 500+ml of oat milk a day to meet her calcium needs due to a highly restrictive diet plus water on top of the oat milk.
Have food allergies been ruled out as constipation can be a symptom of cmpa and food allergies, they also can trigger reflux

@Superscientist can she have water before she sleeps ? Or she’s not allowed ? If she’s allowed how much ?

@Crazymumse she has 150-200 ml of oat milk thickened with infant gaviscon about 30+ minutes before bed. She is on 2 other medications for her reflux, one of which speeds up the emptying of her stomach. She sleeps on 3 pillows to keep her more upright to reduce her reflux. She used to have it at bedtime but it made her reflux too bad
