Is this too much for his stomach bowel of oat and a slice of one toast at one go. It’s too much for me but my son seems to ask for a toast after full bowl of oat?
is that normal portion for child. Will it cause any harm if eaten at once
anyone child eat same

I'd say as long as he's eating, that's a win!

No, a bowl of porridge and slice of toast is not too much for an active 6 year old.

My 5 year old eats huge amounts when going through a growth spurt. Yesterday's lunch was 3 large ham sandwiches, berries and 3 mushroom rolls, as well as a big glass of oat milk and some crackers.

Wooow I think I am over thinking it then. He had all this food within the same setting ?

@Nunsyyyyep! The mushroom rolls weren't especially big, they're from Higgidy

Not the point, but it's a bowl - a bowel is an internal organ

I wouldn’t restrict food as long as it’s healthy! If it was junk food or processed food it could be the ingredients making him want to eat more but when it’s natural food like oats, peanuts etc… his body is looking for the nutrition as he is growing.

My friend whose son is 12 and very skinny and healthy told me when my kid was having a few weeks of non stop eating that her son would do that as a young kid and get a little chubby but then straight afterwards have a growth spurt and shoot up. It has rung true for me, whenever I am shocked at my toddler out eating me she suddenly gets taller! Also good to remember for every step you take he is taking 2/3 - he is probably running around a lot more too - I get so tempted to stick a fitbit on my kid, she never stops moving.

Kids are pretty good at knowing when they need more food. I don’t ever restrict healthy food if my DD says she’s hungry, only crisps and sweets etc are limited. I also don’t force her to finish food if she says she’s full because knowing if they are hungry goes both ways.
