Abnormal liver function test - what could this be?

As the title says really, we are in Wales so I don’t have a copy of the actual results but my dd had a blood test last week and the LFT has flagged for a face to face appointment.
other results were normal/satisfactory.
Test was carried out as having lots of aches and pains, stomach pains (not severe) and loose stools, I wanted to rule out celiacs.

Face to Face appointment isn’t until May as the Dr who ordered the blood test is booked up and then on annual leave!

Hi

Hopefully to reassure you slightly, my DD had raised liver function tests. The did some more bloods and they went back to normal. Doc said possible infection IIRC. The one thing in your post that catches my eye is the appt is in May. If it was anything to worry about, you would be seen a whole heap quicker than that. In my experience, they dont mess around with kids.

I do hear you though, it will be a long wait until May. We just cant help ourselves.

My son had raised liver enzymes and it was in fact a symptom OF coeliacs disease. His first screening came back with only a smidge of a raise (so max was 4, his was like 5.6) and the genes testing was negative. However symptoms continued and he was re-screened for coeliacs 6 months later, this time the gene test came back positive and the coeliac result was even higher.

Yes I thought that it may be not too much to worry about as it’s just a routine face to face appt.
interesting that your results showed it was in fact Coeliacs.
hoping it’s nothing to worry about but it’s so hard not to google (although that didn’t really help much tbh)

Oh my. I didn't know raised LFT and coeliac had a link. Probably a year or so after that wonky lft test, my daughter was tested for coeliac disease and although the 1st tests came back ambiguous, a year later the blood tests were through the roof and she received her dx of coeliac disease!

Nor did I til it happened to us. It was the hospital doctor who told us and then a quick Google gave me lots of information on it. Then later a friend who was having problems with her liver got diagnosed with coeliacs too and was told that was the cause! For some reason it's not talked about as a common symptom but it seems it is.

I haven’t seen the actual numbers for the LFT test yet, may post them here when I get them later on if that’s ok?
but wrt speaking to the GP at the next appointment do you think this is something they will likely say (that it is coeliacs) or will I need to highlight it (my practice is notoriously rubbish so want to be pre armed with the right info)

Where there are 3 columns, the first column is the test result, the second unit of measurement and 3rd is the range of normal.
