So 2 years ago my son had a heart murmur detected by 2 doctors when we went for test the doctor said nothing serious or to worry about and discharged him. The last couple of months up and down he’s been complaint of chest pains he’s been really sleepy (he’s 7) sleeps every chance he gets. Took him the doctors and he’s said he hears heart murmur I explained he’d been discharge and doctor put him through for every blood test ect. He wasn’t happy with how much his heart works. Any advise I can’t help but worry

Does he have an urgent referral to a pediatric cardiology ? He needs an echo-sonogram..thats an ultrasound of the heart to look at the structure of it as it is beating (and not the same as an ECG)

Chase your GP hard every day until you know that the urgent referral has been sent, and then call the cardiology office and say you will take a cancellation, and be the squeaky wheel until he is seen

if you can see ds blood test results on the NHS app, post them on here, someone may be able to help with more advice

Thank-you and will be sure to do that, he’s booked in for bloods on the 29th of April

Well if he gets worse in the meantime, go straight to A and E

getting worse is being dizzy, fainting, not wanting to eat, difficult to rouse, more chest pain, trembling

and ai would call the GP on Monday and ask / insist for the bloods apt to be moved up. 29th April is ridiculous. Do you have a pediatric cardiology referral?

Thanks for the post and Yes I will definitely, and the doctor said get the blood tests first see if anything comes up, but thinking about it shouldn’t he be referred in case it’s that’s what coursing his symptoms

Yes get referred now so the clock has started on waiting for an appointment…if it turns out to be something else, you can always cancel
