As someone who works with Invisalign for kids—and as a parent myself to a 7-month-old—I’ve become even more aware of the early signs of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). Snoring, mouth breathing, and restless sleep can sometimes be linked to how a child’s teeth and jaw develop, which in turn can affect their breathing, focus, and even behavior.

I want to engage with this community and spread awareness because I’ve seen these symptoms firsthand in my own child. Many parents don’t realize that early orthodontic intervention, including Invisalign First, can help guide proper jaw development and potentially improve airway function.

If your child snores, grinds their teeth, or breathes through their mouth at night, I’d love to hear your experiences and share what I’ve learned. Have you ever looked into this for your child?

I just came across this thread as I've become concerned about my 5 year olds teeth. His front teeth appear to be wearing away and getting shorter. He is a mouth breather, even when awake. His mouth stays open pretty much all the time. He had his tonsils and adenoids removed last year due to snoring. He no longer snores or has sleep disordered breathing, but still sleeps with his mouth open. He has a lisp, which I was hoping would improve as he gets older but now I'm thinking maybe it won't until we rectify his mouth breathing and the cause of this. I'd be interested to hear more information on this.
