Enamel Hypoplasia - 1 year old

My ds has enamel Hypoplasia on his front tooth, the dentist has coated his tiny teeth with a varnish to strengthen all 6 of his teeth 😭 He isn't in any pain thank goodness.
My question is, am I right in thinking that this doesn't bode well.. Hypoplasia at nearly a year old? He eats lots of fruit although we avoid biscuits and sugary drinks, all the while brushing teeth twice a day (with fluoride).
My dentist suggested that there is more evidence linking mothers taking antibiotics (long course) during pregnancy and babies with hypoplasia - I did, twice. I don't know if this is true, I just wonder if hypoplasia at this age may also suggest that he is lacking in calcium and and other nutrients. He has several allergies, including cow's milk, so food can be a bit of a struggle sometimes.
Any advice/experience from others would be very well received. Tell me how I can help our wee man.

Hi
DS had hypoplasia on his deciduous molars. His adult teeth are all perfect.

Not giving him sugary drinks was our first strategy. We banned nursery from giving him any and it's had the unexpected long term effect of making him dislike sugary drinks even now. He won't touch anything fizzy and drinks milk by the pint.

Secondly brush his teeth for him. I know it's good for them to learn and so let him brush, but then do it again yourself. We managed this with dentist's encouragement until DS gained his first adult teeth and we managed to avoid fillings.

Good luck... (likely cause for us was me having hyperemesis)

One of mine had this. I didn't take any antibiotics or any medications at all. I have no idea why it happened, though it was suggested that it could have been caused by me having a fever at the right stage of fetal development, though I don't recall anything like that.

He did have issues with decay but his adult teeth were, fortunately, not affected and were normal.

My 6 year old has this on the tips of his two new front adult teeth. Dentist wasnt overly concerned, said it was likely weak enamel and over time the tips tend to turn translucent and its not as obvious. She said it could also be genetic. Thinking about it I don't think ive noticed any adults ever having this on their teeth.

My little one had this and when he was just 3 we went private and had the front four removed. Poor thing had a terrible time with abcesses and pain/infection. He did have little false teeth for a while on a bridge but kept pulling them out 😔
