How long daily for nit / lice combing?

Hello,

i know it’s pretty much a how long is a piece of string question, but for those who have had to deal with head lice recently, how long have you had to set aside daily for combing with a nitty gritty? DD has fairly long, fine but lots of it hair.

We have done the initial treatment on DD and also spent hours repeatly combing/manually removing lice and eggs. I have read that I need to be combing every day, then ever second day with a nitty gritty as well as the second treatment on day seven.

Life is pretty hectic, but obviously need to prioritise this to properly treat it, so need to figure out if we need to change work arrangements between us to make more time in the evenings.

thank you

Every day for two weeks, Sun, Wed, Fri, for a few weeks then every Friday forever.

thank you. How long did it take each day as we have around an hour an a half to do dinner, play and bedtime routines midweek, so need to figure out if it’s going to take several hours every evening and will need to try to adjust work times so that we are home a bit earlier while doing this.

thank you again.

15mins per head (don’t forget your own), you can do reading at the same time. Use lots of conditioner.

Thank you!

it is soooo difficult doing my own hair! I had to use four clips last night.

It’s all extremely frustrating, as from what I can gather, patient zero isn’t being treated properly so it’s just continuing to spread around the other children.

First post nails it, plus a quick check every morning.

If you're treating with conditioner (cheap works well as not as thick!) and the proper NG comb you don't need a treatment.

We had a child in my youngest's class whose home life was what you'd describe as chaotic. She had visible nits and loose hair constantly, so we had years of lice combing. If you keep on top of it, you'll be fine.
