5 year old DD, red down there and GP not being very helpful

My 5 year old DD is always red down there.

Does anyone have any advice ? She also has some discharge, which doesn't smell and doesn't really have a colour. Sometimes yellowish.

The GP gave me some steroid cream, which does clear it up. But I can't use it for longer than 5 days.

I'm washing her down there most days, or maximum every 2 days. I don't use any soap, just water or I get her to just sit in a bath with Oilatum in it.

She suffers from eczema.

I'm not sure what else to do? Am I doing something wrong in the routine ?

Like I said, at the moment I let her soak in Oilatum or a quick wash ( we have a bidet ) and then I apply a little bit of sudocreme. If I'm not using the steroid. Should I use something like Bepanthen too ? Bepanthen has really helped the eczema on her face.

Amy help appreciated.

Nappy cream to soothe and make sure she is definitely wiping front to back after a poo.

I would try to avoid baths.

Personally as an adult, if I constantly take baths I get discharge. Had it checked don't have BV so I narrowed it down to baths.
Is she touching or scratching down there ? The only thing I can think of if she's touching... perhaps that makes it worse?

I hopefully find the solution x

If it's reoccurring it may be fungal. Cantestan nappy rash cream is really good.

Make sure you loo roll isn't scented. This caused DD and me to have nasty reaction.

This might sound a bit weird but - check for threadworms. My DD at the same age had red raw undercarriage that wouldn't shift, no matter how much Sudocrem, antifungal cream or whatever. She also used to cry at night, saying it was hurting. I spent hours on Google and finally found a paper which detailed reactions to the mucus that the worms exude when they emerge to lay their eggs. That night, I donned a head torch and inspected DD's bum. There they were! Two doses of Ovex later, and the redness disappeared.

Contact a nutritionist. Something she's eating isn't agreeing with her and she's getting a skin flare up.
Lots of washing is effecting her PH level.
Remove all processed food for a while and see if this helps.

Treat for threadworms and see if it gets better.

My ndn removed a small plastic pig (from a farm set) when her dd 4 was red and sore...
