Anyone else in the same boat?
Spots started appearing on my 2 year old on Wednesday and I think we’re reaching the itchy stage! Only fell asleep at 11 after actually having to drive about in the car for 30 mins as she was so distressed. Then woke up at 2:15 screaming and writhing about in pain again. I’ve called it quits on trying to settle her upstairs and have come to put some quiet telly on with a duvet on the sofa! Feel terrible for it but don’t want her getting upset/hot/bothered as that will make her itchier!
Does anybody have any tips for aiding sleep? I have been using PoxClin and Calamine lotion. Also giving Calpol when she will actually take it. Just hope it passes soon!

Puriton? Not sure if that's recommended anymore.

Antihistamines could help with itching and sleep.

A cool bath before bed with oats or baking powder in it.

Try not to worry it will get better quickly

I have given her some Piriteze now, but think I will go to the chemist to try and get Piriton as think that’s the drowsy one and may help with sleeping. I’m just worried she has had so little sleep all night! She’s running about like no tomorrow so sure she’s just fine, not sure I’ll be able to keep up though 😂

Head and Shoulders original shampoo used as bubble bath. Honestly it's magic stuff! Google it. Best Mom hack I ever discovered. That and calpol syringe to draw out splinters. Hope your LO starts to feel better soon OP.

Oat baths - I assumed they were a bit of an old wives' tale but they really helped when my youngest had terrible chickenpox.

pop oats in a old pair of tights ,start with very hot water for oats to soak in for a few mins. Then cool to bathing temp, really soothing

Calamine is awful, it distresses DTs, it just went hard and crusty and cracked when they moved at all.

Bicarb in a bath, or oats.
