Recurrent impetigo

Hello! My one year old keeps getting impetigo on her face. She first got it at 4 months, and was on antibiotics for it. Since then, she’s continued to get it almost monthly. The doctors have prescribed Fucidin cream which we put on every time. It does clear it up but the fact she keeps getting it is becoming difficult, especially as I’m back at work now and she can’t go to nursery with it. It’s making things so hard! Has anyone else had experience with recurrent impetigo? Does it ever stop?!

Ds14 had impetigo on his face last winter. He was given cream to put on but it appeared again after the course. Finally he was given oral antibiotics together with the cream and it disappeared and hasn't come back.

My DD had it 3 times last year. Cream helped the affected area but didn't stop the spread. Tried a 5 day course of flucloxacillin which cleared it but then it returned. A 10 day course then seemed to work.

My twins have had impetigo multiple times over four years, they have had nasal swabs as the bacterial infection can live inside the nose, they were clear. After a lot of appointments and the usual creams ect I managed to speak with a skin specialist who recommended dermol 500 lotion from the doctor which can be used as a a skin wash and germolene wound care cream ( the white one not the blue ) this works much better than the fucidin cream!
I use the dermol lotion to wash their hands and face everyday and apply the germolene twice a day even if they

if its caused by strep a then a 10 day course of antibiotics might be needed. I don’t think cream alone will clear it
