Hi, so three weeks ago my DS (2years old) fell on the edge of low metal part of furniture... ouch!! They didn't put stitches as they said the cut was "nice and even". I would certainly not call it nice🙃 they used steri-strips. I understand it's early days however wonder if anyone has any advice regarding prevention/ minimisation of scarring. I'm worried sick I scared my little boys face. I started using silicone based scaring products. Any advise on how long it will take to be less prominent/red ? How badly will it scar? Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

Poor scrap, and poor you! Vitamin E oil applied regularly can do wonders for scarring - the easiest option is often to buy supplement capsules and prick the end to squeeze the oil out, it needs to be good quality (so top end brands from a health shop rather than high street/supermarket brands).

Another vote for vitamin E oil which I used on a prominent facial scar and worked brilliantly for me. I wouldn't be rubbing plastic products in personally. And when the weather gets warmer it's really important that you sunscreen the scar.

My DD split her chin open as a toddler. It's barely visible now and I didn't bother treating it.
