Hi,

Been to the Drs multiple times for my DC urine.
Getting fobbed off with 'poor hygiene' as they are only 4.

Have attached some pictures of home dip sticks.

Would this be down to poor hygiene? Or do I need to keep pressing?

All 4 pics taken within the last 7 days.

What are you actually worried about? As in what are the symptoms? And why are you sure it’s not poor hygiene?

bluecow321 · 23/02/2025 18:14

Urgency to wee, stinging when wee-ing. Red & white bloods cells found in urine cultures.

I mean it could be poor hygiene, but would mean prolonged blood in urine for 4months?

You've not mentioned why you are using the dip sticks?

MolkosTeenageAngst · 23/02/2025 18:16

Which specific parts of the strip are you worried about? What do you think is being shown from the results? Does your child have symptoms of something?

NestaArcheron · 23/02/2025 18:16

Is she wiping the wrong way? Because yes, this causes uti in little girls all the time!

frenchnoodle · 23/02/2025 18:16

So female 4 year old with blood in urine? The first though would be an infection due to not wiping correctly.

Surely yes if the hygiene is still bad?

bluecow321 · 23/02/2025 18:17

Sorry yes, updated with the symptoms didn't include in OP.

Ok, thank you 😊. I'm sure it's just poor hygiene.

Really you should wipe for her.

I know the school issue in the UK makes that hard but at 4 it's so easy for them to get it wrong.

NestaArcheron · 23/02/2025 18:19

When you say poor hygiene, do you mean incorrect wiping?

bluecow321 · 23/02/2025 18:21

@frenchnoodle I do, which is why I was sceptical.
Every single poo when they are with me, I wipe them.

Obviously teach them and supervise them with wees.

@NestaArcheron yeah incorrect wiping. We are working on it.

Are they treating the infection (red and white blood cells) as they occur though? Obviously tackle the hygiene issue but I wouldn't be happy with an infection being left untreated

bluecow321 · 23/02/2025 18:26

@WithOneLook sometimes... sometimes not.
Most recently ecoli came back in the urine culture, but they didn't treat because at the time they were symptomless 🤷🏼‍♀️.

They have had 4 lots of anti biotics since November.
