7 weeks vomiting and diarrhoea

I'm a broken record on mumsnet now!

My 3 year old has been vomiting for 7 weeks - yes - 7 weeks. He also has the most mucousy rancid diarrhoea I've ever seen

My husband and I are doctors, we've seen a lot of poo and have never seen anything like this

GP is sick to death of me crying and asking for help . GP said it was "toddlers diarrhoea"

We thought giardiasis based off symptoms and the fact my husband caught it and they both had one course of metronidazole . Husband better but son 10 days later still up all night vomiting

I'm 32 weeks pregnant. We're sleep deprived. He hasn't been to nursery since beginning of January.

He's gone from 76th centile to 16th centile for weight (99.9% centile for height...)

Going into ED this morning but I really don't think they'll help . Just asking for a handhold or advice on how to get NHS to listen. He's been given an outpatient appointment for the end of June.

I'm sorry I can't help OP but this is absolutely outrageous. An appointment for JUNE? After vomiting for 7 weeks?! I'd be doing exactly the same as you. I hope yoi get some answers today, please do let us know how you get on Flowers

Go private

@OdeToBarney thank you for validating my feelings because the GP is so sick of me. I can't remember if I said in the OP but the GP said that I was the unwell person in the room NOT the child - because I was crying and anxious about my son.

We're sat in paediatric assessment unit after a very kind ED doctor agreed it's not normal. Obviously it's skeleton staff at weekend and I'm not expecting an admission or a miracle but maybe someone could take a bit of control of the situation

@clinellwipe unfortunately I have experience of being dismissed with my DD and it left me with PTSD which still affects me more than 2 years later. In the end we had to go private and the paediatric gastroenterologist got us into the assessment unit where we finally got some help! It's going to be a long day for you but I really hope you get some answers 💗
