He will be fine.

Mummiessss · 21/02/2025 01:13

But did I space it out ?

OP posts:
AnotherDelphinium · 21/02/2025 01:15

Don’t panic, as long as it’s the age-appropriate dose it’s fine.
I’d probably not give another one until 9am as that gives them 8 hours to completely clear it.
They need quite a bit more than what’s on the recommended dose to cause any issues.

mp2024 · 21/02/2025 01:16

I'm not sure how you can't do the basic maths here.. 4 doses in 24 hours, given 4-6h apart....
Quite simple counting required to answer your own question

ThatUniqueKoala · 21/02/2025 01:18

You've given 3 doses in 24 hours, spaced at least 4 hours apart, well over in fact unless my ability to count is wrong.

He'll be absolutely fine.

Absolutely this.

17:15 (19th feb) to 17:15 (20th feb) is 24 hours window right ?
so I am ok
omg I cannot get my head arounds it

OP posts:
ThatUniqueKoala · 21/02/2025 01:23

If you struggle with the time or maths, use a timer. Set a timer for 6 hours on your phone as soon as you give them a dose, then once that timer is up you know it's safe to give another dose.

Mummiessss · 21/02/2025 01:29

😭pls can someone tell me if I made mistake or not. I have Covid too like him and temperature so I feel off and I cannot work it out

OP posts:
Meecrowahvey · 21/02/2025 01:34

You did not make a mistake.

PoopingAllTheWay2 · 21/02/2025 01:34

Your times are completely fine.

You gave 4 doses in a 27 hour period
between 5.15pm on the 21st - 8pm on the 22nd
Then you gave the next dose at 1am (just now)
This is fine and following the doses as you should be

How old is he and what dose is he on?

For everyone else… Please have Empathy for the OP
She’s poorly, dealing with a poorly child, its nearly 2am and thinks she has overdosed her child

ThatUniqueKoala · 21/02/2025 01:36

Fuck sake.

Okay
17:15 to 03:00 is 9 hours 45 minutes
03:00 to 12:32 is 9 hours 32 minutes
12:32 to 20:00 is 7 hours 32 minutes
20:00 to 01:00 is 5 hours

The first 3 doses, 17:15, 03:00 & 12:32 are within the same 24 hour period. You can give up to 4 doses in 24 hours, you did not, you only gave 3.

AlwaysTheRenegade · 21/02/2025 01:37

No your doses are fine, he can have more at 7am, then 1pm ect

Mummiessss · 21/02/2025 01:37

Thank you so much 😭
what dose should I give the next one ?

OP posts:
PoopingAllTheWay2 · 21/02/2025 01:37

What doses have you been given him?
Follow the instructions according to his age

AlwaysTheRenegade · 21/02/2025 01:38

Give it at 7 in the morning if you think he'll need the four doses again in this 24 hours.

PoopingAllTheWay2 · 21/02/2025 01:39

Best to do it atleast every 6 hours (Only if needed)
He can go longer than 6 hours obviously

That way, You know that you 100% wont be overdosing him

PartyOFive · 21/02/2025 01:40

You can give another one from 7am onwards.
If you always leave six hours between doses you won't exceed the 24 hour limit.

Kindly OP I think you need some sleep, write down on paper or a note on your phone what you have been told here and then try to let your mind rest because it won't have to remember the details, they will be written on your note. When you give the next dose make sure you count on six hours and update the note with the time when you can next give a dose, if he needs it.

This is what I do when a little one is ill, because it is easy to second guess yourself but if you are keeping a note, and always adding a 'next dose from' time then you will have something to rely on when your mind is tired

Yesitriedyoga · 21/02/2025 01:44

Hi OP, I'm a nurse (and a mum) so well used to dishing out calpol/paracetamol.

You've done absolutely fine.

You've last given it at 1am, so don't give the next dose before 5am but if you can, aim for 7am and then if you always leave 6 hours between doses you won't be able to give too much in 24 hours.

Make sure you take paracetamol for yourself at the same time, then you'll both get the right timings 😊 feel better soon.

Mummiessss · 21/02/2025 01:37

Thank you so much 😭
what dose should I give the next one ?

Seems fine op. Maybe setting your phone timer for every 6 hours will help? And write it down each time. I get a lot of brain fog and need to write notes with times and doses of my own meds to keep it straight and I totally get the confusion. Then I can check to see if 6 hours have passed yet or not. So sorry you both have covid and hope you are better soon.💐

It’s the full dose in a 24 hour span anyway. So whilst you shouldn’t give more the full daily dose in one go, it doesn’t count as an overdose unless that’s exceeded in the 24 hour span.

Yes OP one day to the next at the same time is 24 hours.

Four doses over one 24 hour period like the one you describe means every six hours.

OP if you are finding this difficult to work out or can’t figure it out I would suggest you write it down and google it and set a timer.

Otherwise if this is too difficult and you can’t figure it out maybe don’t take the chance with giving your baby medicine.
