Very worried about my 9 year old

My 9 year old is worrying me a lot. Since the beginning of January he’s had 3 fever episodes (mostly every couple of weeks), a cough for weeks that hasn’t gone, a wrenching night sweat and then last night he woke up shivering and was sick (just the once). I can’t sleep with the worry. I took him to the GP last week which said to keep an eye on the night sweats and that his lymph nodes were up. Said they’d do bloods if they continue. I’ll take him back again today. Was tempted to go to A and E.
He is gaining weight.

Some very hurtful replies on here that breaks my heart for you as understandably you are concerned about your son.

Block out any unhelpful replies some folk sit on these forums for hours waiting to pounce, not realising it is actually them that needs to seek help.

Really hope you get some answers soon. I know exactly what the anxiety is like when your child is ill and you feel like no one is listening.

Sending big hugs. Xx

That’s what it looks like but he hasn’t been doing that.

Went to the paediatrician who tried to reassure us. She said that from looking at his bloods that he had done last week that she would hope he’s had something viral. She is going to repeat the bloods and test for glandular fever. Also said that some times sinister things can take a while to show up in bloods but that at least he is being checked now.
With regards to the bruise, she was puzzled by it as it has such a strange look to it.
It is now looking more like a bruise today and is fading to become more of a browner colour.

Trying to switch off from the worry but it keeps creeping in. A couple of weeks to wait until the bloods are done again.

Thank you for your kind words. It’s horrible isn’t it? I really do struggle with the anxiety of it all.

It was pretty upsetting reading some of the comments from others as at the end of the day I was just looking for some support :-(

You might have a bit of health anxiety but goodness me you're entitled to worry about your children. That's just normal. I hope you get some reassurance soon which I'm sure you will x
