Please help! Constant infections and weight loss in 2 year old

Hi,
im really hoping someone can help me and point me in the right direction,
my 2 year old son is constantly poorly he’s had 9 infections in 7 months which 90% of the time require antibiotics, he’s also lost 1kg in 7 weeks and refusing to eat, I have been to my GP countless times they have finally agreed to send a paediatric referral but we were back again this morning as he has woken up with yet another sore throat and chesty cough,
I got upset with the GP to be told children get ill and there is nothing more they can do, I requested that he has a blood test to be told only a paediatrician can request though which I know is not true.
I guess I’m asking if anyone else has been in this situation and is anyone knows of where else I can turn.
tia x

I am really sorry to hear your child has been so poorly. We had a tough winter ourselves when my first one was 1 year old. He also lost weight. I remember he could only tolerate 2 foods - soured cream and a bit of vermicelli with butter. I can't offer you a medical advice, keep pushing you GP. Sending hugs

Further to the earlier message- my friend said I shouldn't be feeding my son soured cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner as it's 40% fat. However it was the only food he fancied. And a little bit of vermicelli sometimes. It was very difficult

Does he go to nursery? It’s been a rough winter for viruses this year. I would go back to the GP, maybe see a different one? And ask for a blood test as that’s a lot of antibiotics he’s needed bless him. If they say no, ask why and push again…if they still refuse say you want it recorded that you asked and they refused as you have serious concerns about the amount of antibiotics he has needed. Good luck x

Thank you so much I have put a complaint in this afternoon and requested his medical records as I’m at the point of transferring his GP, it’s been such a tough winter this year, he does go to nursery but at this point I feel like I’m paying for nothing as he can’t go in with how unwell he has been x
