HELP-What’s wrong with my toddler 🫠

for the passed month, he comes to me and says he is chocking. Even when he doesn’t have food in his mouth. And then his eyes look red like he actually chocked. And I hear throat clearing. It happens 3 times a day or sometimes once. It’s random during the day and it doesn’t happen at night !
I thought maybe it’s transit tic since it didn’t affect his food or appetite and there is no vomit and it doesn’t happen when he sleeps etc.
but now I am worried about reflux ? Can that be reflux. He drinks water a lot at one go but now I try to offer in smaller cups in case it’s the cause !
anyone has any insight
( I will booking gp appointment tomorrow because I am very worried)

It could be reflux or regurgitation syndrome.
My daughter has never outgrown her reflux. Since learning to sit up it's been predominantly overnight but a bad flare up around aged 3 it was during the day too and her dietitian suspected it was a combination of reflux and regurgitation syndrome as her body had gotten used to bringing up stomach contents. We never was sick but you could sit next to her and hear her bring up her drink then swallow it again on over and over again. High dose omperazole makes a big difference

When I was lying next to him he was bringing up his milk and as soon as his sleep everything stops so I don’t know if it’s behavioural or something wrong with him ?!

Silent reflux would be my best guess. How old is he? Any previous reflux issues? The biggest thing I have learnt about reflux is it's not a linear journey!

I would speak to the GP about trialling omperazole and potentially thickening liquids. My 4 yo still have her drink before bed thickened but not other drinks in the day.

He is 2 years old and never had reflux as a baby. When he sleeps the throat clearing stop. I realised it happened today after juice 🧃 so not sure
