Gluten intolerance?

DD (7) has always had a bit of a dodgy tummy since she was little, always loose stools and smelly, we stopped giving her cows milk as it seemed to be worse and thought she may have a lactose intolerance, spoke to GP when she was around 3.5, who said they don’t test for it and if dropping the milk was helping to just carry on doing that.

Last year we went to GP as she keeps getting aches and pains in joints and limbs, they advised to take a Vit D supplement and that it’s likely just growing pains.

The last few weeks she’s been constipated and bloated and complaining more of tummy aches (and I’m not sure if it’s related but she has under the skin bumps on her cheeks and arms, has a shower everyday and washes face with water and flannel so don’t think it’s sweat)

I just wondered if this sounds like it could be more than lactose intolerance and worth going back to GP to investigate further?

im asking on here first as my GP is an absolute nightmare, lots of wait and see how it goes, I’m not an antibiotic or diagnosis chaser but they do make me feel that way sometimes (not all Drs one of them is brilliant but she’s always booked up in advance and is never the on call Dr for the day)

Sorry that was longer than I expected but didn’t want to miss any info out

Example of what her under the skin bumps are like, this was last year, she came up with a rash of them all over her torso, GP said it was probably viral and to wait and see if it went (it did after about a month)
current bumps are not quite so widespread though

Have you tried excluding gluten? Eggs can be another common one.
One of my daughters is lactose and soy intolerant and another is gluten intolerant and all was just discovered by trial and error.
One also gets a reaction to something we haven't pin pointed but it only happens at another location other than home/school and it's out if my control. She will get rashes but they are usually pink tinged and dry rather than like your child's.

I'd be tempted to try to provide only meals without the main allergens and see if it goes away, then test adding them back (one every 4 days or so so that there's time for the reaction to show)

Actually on reading back I'm thinking it could also possibly be constipation (tummy issues, not rash) - lots of backed up poo will cause a tummy ache. My lactose intolerant dd used to experience this when visiting her dad. She ended up on laxido - a stool softener.

Thank you,
not tried excluding gluten yet, just wanted to get some opinions from people who have experience of it.
might be worth trying some laxatives first maybe though

I would ask for a coeliac screen before you cut out gluten. It is a blood test.

Thank you for that.
DD is growing normally, bit worried that indicates she’s not got an issue, she’s quite tall for her age but is lean (she’s got older siblings and they’re the same, and me & DH were the same as children too so the height is genetic)

Sorry worded that wrong as I do hope
she doesnt have any issues at all but I don’t know what else could be causing this stomach upset all the time (and the aches and pains)

I’d bite the bullet and ask the GP for a coeliac test , don’t do gluten exclusion first as you need to be on gluten for weeks before the test and if she does feel better being gf it is horrible to start making yourself feel ill again just for a test .

My granddaughter diagnosed with Coeliac Diseaese last year with very similar symptoms, along with poor weight gain and general fatigue ,constipation .
Ask for Coeliac Test with referral to Gastroenterologist. Continue giving gluten until blood test results.

Coeliac disease can also cause joint pain, rashes and nutritional deficiencies.
